| How +5 Works The +5 Homeowners Electrical Protection Plan is a no-cost
service providing peace of mind to homeowners and builders
when hiring the services of an electrical contractor. We
take the hassles and uncertainties out of finding the right
contractor to wire new or remodeled homes.
By prescreening contractors and their employees, we are
able to ensure that only fully qualified professionals
wire homes covered under the +5 Home Owners Electrical
Protection Plan. The +5 Plan provides an exclusive five-year
extended service plan at no cost to the homeowner, the
electrical contractor, or the builder.
No cost
The +5 Homeowners Electrical Protection Plan is a no-cost
program that covers a new home’s entire electrical
system. Simply put, it’s like an extended warranty
on the +5 electrical contractor’s workmanship and
materials.
Extended service
The plan is called “+5” because it extends
beyond the builders one-year warranty for an additional
five years. In other words, a home covered by the +5 Plan
is actually protected for six years. When a +5 authorized
electrical contractor wires a home, he submits a request
for a warranty on that home. Once the home is inspected
and the electrical installations are approved by the local
+5 Plan manager, the manager then authorizes the warranty.

The +5 Electrical Maintenance Agreement
When construction of the home is completed and it is time
for the closing, a +5 Electrical Maintenance Agreement
and registration card will be provided to the homeowner.
The Maintenance Agreement spells out all provisions of
the +5 Homeowners Electrical Protection Plan. It informs
the new homeowner how to file a claim in the unlikely event
that a problem should arise during the five years of +5
coverage. If a problem should occur, +5 will have an authorized
electrical contractor fix the problem at no expense to
the homeowner, builder or developer.
Peace of mind
With +5, the homeowner can call anytime he or she suspects
that there might be an electrical problem, without the
fear of being socked with a big bill to pay. In the event
that there is an electrical problem, it can be corrected
before it becomes major or catastrophe strikes.
The +5 Homeowners Electrical Protection Plan says to the
new homeowner, “This house was
built by the finest, most highly skilled craftsmen in the
business, using top-quality materials and workmanship,
at no additional cost to the homeowner.”
